Technology makes 52/52 Project just a little bit better

As we all move into a new decade, it’s amazing to see how fast technology has advanced, especially in the last 10 years. I was recently reminded of this fact when local musician Will McCranie, now living in NYC, announced that he was planning to put out a new song online every week for a whole year. Fifty-two weeks, 52 songs. What a great idea, I thought.
But, here’s where the new technology just blew me away. Another local musician, Jeff Johnston, still living here, took the first track Will released, “It Ain’t Like Georgia,” and added some drums and bass, and presented it back as a remix titled, “It Ain’t Like Jawja.” Everything done online.
The possibilities are endless. Music for everyone. Just like that. I’m looking forward to seeing how this 52/52 Project evolves throughout the year.
