In 2010, I released a song a week for 52 weeks. That's 52 songs, 52 weeks...

52/52 PROJECT: Week 63, Song 63 - Thursday

One more… for good measure. Made a couple patches with the Korg iMS-20 then improv city from there. Really enjoying the flexibility of the interface.

52/52 PROJECT: Week 51, Song 51 - Fall Down Drunk

New jam with Jacob Beltz at The Metro in Augusta, GA on Dec 21, 2010. Wrote the outline for the song the day of and debuted it that night. Little ode to a lot of good nights back home.

52/52 PROJECT: Week 50, Song 50 - Make It Our Own

I had a free day, so I ran with the song from scratch idea and tried to make it a little bigger than the usual acoustic demo. It’s open DADGAD tuning with the capo on the 7th fret for the guitarists out there. The piano and drums are via my Akai MPK61.

I’d like to say it’s a wandering response to getting floored by Kevin Kinney’s set last night at The Living Room.

Augusta folks, I’ll see you at The Imperial Theatre this Saturday for the 12 Bands of Christmas concert!

52/52 PROJECT: Week 40, Song 40 - High

This is live from Mic-Club at Lucky Jack’s on Oct 28th, 2010.

I don’t have much to say for the song itself other than that I’ve seen way too many good kids lost to addiction to. It’s something that’s really bothered me for a while… I get way too many Facebook notices of kids I went to school with that pass for pointless reasons. This song was more or less my output for the multitude of thoughts on this subject that’ve been running through my head as a result. I’m no angel, but this is happening way too much.

Please be safe and I hope to see you soon.

52/52 PROJECT: Week 39, Song 39 - Quiet Nights

Live at The National Underground (10.27.2010)

I’ve been doing Whiskey Wednesday at The National Underground in NYC almost every week for about 7 months now. It’s a great time to test new song ideas. Last night was no exception. This is a new one that I started this week called Quiet Nights and Whacko Dave was kind enough to sit-in on lead guitar.

52/52 PROJECT: Week 38, Song 38 - Jammin’ With Cactus

I’m not even going to pretend that my guitar playing was anything short of a hot mess, but I’m also not going to pretend that this wasn’t the coolest 90 seconds of music I’ve gotten to be a part of all year.

Mike Gordon - Bass
Sir Joe Russo - Drums
Scott Murawski - Guitar
Me - Guitar

Huge thanks to Mike for putting on The Mossery event last night at Kenny’s Castaways! The experiment was a success and pretty much fulfilled a lot of musicians’ dreams of getting to sit in for a minute or two with such a great band.
